The new SSL S400 console is the latest control surface for the System T Platform. The desk is available in standalone frames in three configurations with 16+1, 32+1, or 48+1 faders. The S400 fills the gap between the compact S300 and the modular S500.

According to Solid State Logic, the SSL S400 offers the same touch-sensitive 100 mm faders as the flagship S500 consoles with a dedicated OLED display for each fader. In addition to this, each fader offers a level meter and a status LED to display things like dynamics, Automix, or external controls. The new desk lends itself to a variety of applications from recording to broadcast to live sound.

The SSL 400 is based on the same software foundation as the System T range, which means that it offers the same functionality. This includes a complete production toolkit for immersive audio, a comprehensive studio-quality FX rack, and of course integrated AoIP routing controls.

The multi-gesture touchscreen makes it easy to edit routings, system configurations, and surface layouts. An HDMI output allows you to connect an external screen; an optional screen arm is available.

The master section offers comprehensive monitoring controls (for up to four connected monitors), a focus fader, and a set of assignable buttons. In addition, a 5-inch touchscreen hosts an FX rack meter viewer with built-in loudness, true peak, and Phasescope metering. With 21 assignable buttons, you can tailor the workflow to your needs.
