By combining a newly refined measurement process that uses a binaural in-ear microphone system to measure the surrounding acoustic environment from your perspective, Virtual Monitoring PRO uses advanced DSP to capture the sound of your studio monitor system in your room.
However, you don’t have to stop there. By using this measurement system, you can precisely map any of your favourite acoustic spaces, such as your living room or car interior. You could even capture the sound of your mastering engineer’s studio to find out how your mix is performing before you send it to be finalized.
With the SoundID USB binaural mic, it’s remarkably easy to create these unique acoustic profiles, which you can later use to reference your mixes on headphones. All you do is place the mics into your ears, just like AirPods, and then run the wizard, which walks you through the process.
Once complete, you can make adjustments to fine-tune the profile, so you can ensure it’s as accurate a representation as possible. You can also choose whether or not you’d like to create the profile based on acoustically optimized speaker outputs; it’s all a question of personal preference.
