Noah “40” Shebib is a producer in demand by the likes of Drake, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Nas, Sade, Alicia Keys, and more. Native Instruments collaborated with the man for a brand-new Play Series instruments for keys and drums. The two are sold for EUR 99 until May 22, 2022.
The Keys instrument contains 150 presets blending classic synth and piano samples along with a custom “40” macro control that lets you dial in that signature “underwater” sound. Likewise, the drums instrument offers 200+ mix-ready drum samples custom-made by 40. The sounds are designed for sparse, pared-back hip hop beats. To that, you will also find a selection of built-in MIDI patterns.

AudioKit Pro launched VHS Synth, a virtual instrument for iOS devices. It’s made up of vintage and modern synths (Prophet 6, Moog Concertmate, Novation Bass Station, KORG Volca FM, etc) recorded to VHS tape with an old VCR. The sound is crunchy 80’s lo-fi owing to the effects of tape and custom processing.
The combination delivers warmth, noise, and inconsistencies we’ve come to recognize as vibe. The instrument is ideal for synthwave, hip-hop, indie, rock, ambient, soundtrack, lo-fi, and other styles. It also features VCR sound effects (Buttons, Tape Hiss, More) and a VCR FX section to further tweak the sounds.
VHS Synth is available as a standalone app and iOS AUv3 plugin. It ships with 250+ presets to get you started. The price is currently USD 3.99, down from USD 9.99. The purchase includes a free Expansion Pack with the sounds of the OP-1 recorded through a VCR and re-sampled.
Orchestral Tools TIME series collections

Orchestral Tools announced that their TIME series collections are now available as a discounted bundle. It contains two libraries offering a set of sonic and rhythmic orchestral palettes. Expect to hear pendulum swells, clockwork rhythmic textures, and subtle movements.
TIME Macro features mid-sized orchestral ensembles and choirs while TIME Micro is focused on more ethereal sounds from smaller ensembles and solo instruments. The instruments were meticulously sampled in the main room at Berlin’s Teldex Studio and blended with other Orchestral Tools libraries. All instruments were captured with 4 mic positions.
The TIME bundle introductory price is EUR 399, down from EUR 499. The offer is valid until May 23, 2022.
Soundiron Vintage Keys Series: Dusty Roads for Kontakt

Soundiron announced a new addition to their Vintage Keys Series for Kontakt. The series, which contains rare and vintage synthesizers and keyboards, welcomes Dusty Roads. It captures the essence of a classic Fender Rhodes Mark II Stage Piano. The developer sampled the instrument at 6 velocity layers and 4 round robins, then recorded key up and down SFX. This lets you dial in the release volume and amount of key attack. They also crafted 20 evolving textural soundscapes that range from ethereal and cinematic to haunting and atmospheric.
The introductory price is USD 19 (down from USD 29) and the offer is good until May 24, 2022.

NEW WAVE 1982 DRUMS for Kontakt is a collection of authentic ’80s pop drums that’s free for a limited time. If you like the drum sound of the 80s, you get plenty of that. The library contains multiple round robins and articulations. The drum sample library works with Kontakt 5.4.3 or higher or you can use the .wav files.
