ROLI Studio is now for everyone – no Blocks or Seaboard needed
ROLI has opened up the ROLI Studio application and plug-ins to everyone. This means that you no longer need Blocks or a Seaboard to use ROLI Studio, which combines sounds from ROLI’s synthesis engines with production and performance tools and effects. It’s also on sale at 20% off until April 30th.
ROLI opens up ROLI Studio
Since its release last year, ROLI Studio was exclusively available to Blocks or Seaboard owners. The company announced today that this restriction is now a thing of the past. That’s good news if you like the sounds, but couldn’t quite convince yourself to invest in ROLI hardware. Now you can use the software with any controller, which can only be a good thing.
The software itself hasn’t changed otherwise. ROLI Studio consists of a stand-alone application and the Studio Player and Studio Drums plug-ins. It’s an interface and browser that brings together sounds from ROLI’s various synth engines, and adds effects and production tools. 500 sounds are included, which come from ROLI’s Equator, Cypher2 and Strobe2 synthesizers. This being ROLI, 300 of those sounds support MPE for expressive playability on compatible controllers. The software also includes a range of creative tools, such as Smart Chords and a multi-layered arpeggiator. There are four effect slots, which can be controlled dynamically via X/Y pads.

The software runs as a stand-alone app or plug-in on macOS 10.13 or higher and Windows 10. The plug-ins are available in AU and VST formats.
