More leaked images of Roland 909 day releases appeared on Moogulator’s Synthesizer.de blog last night. This time it’s the long rumoured re-issue of the TR-909 drum machine and TB-303 Bassline synth. But of course these are ACB Boutique versions they are calling the TR-09 and TB-03. Digital recreations of analogue classics in a tidy form factor. Not sure everyone will be pleased! As reported elsewhere on gearnews.com, the blog also has shots of the rumoured System 8 and VP-03 Vocoder.

TR-09 and TB-03

There is no information other than the images but to me they look completely fabulous. Obviously the hardcore fans will be heartbroken that they’ve changed the shape and are using virtually modelled analogue rather then the real thing. However, I’m betting they sound every bit as good as the other Boutique range of products which is as near to the real thing as you’re ever going to get.

I’m liking the Trigger input and CV/Gate output on the front of the TB-03.

Here’s the link to the original leak. I wonder if there’s anything else to come? Really looking forward to the big release day on the 9th September. For more information on that click here.

Ok, so by the looks of it no individual outputs on the TR-09 and virtual analog emulation for the TB-03 instead of true analog. Roland manages to disappoint us yet again. They better be fucking cheap for anyone to buy these…

Oh no they wont be cheap, some people are so stupid to pay such high amounts for 30 year old clones.

well, if the TR-03 was analog, it might be worth its money. Korg did the same with its MS-20 mini and that was very well received.

roland let it drop, these things are over 30 years old for christ’s sake, come up with something new, you have lost your imagination.
