Revv Amplification has officially expanded its Generator lineup with the release of the G25, a compact tube amplifier head that bridges the gap between portable convenience and high-end studio performance.

Built upon the foundation of the company’s acclaimed Generator series, the G25 arrives as a versatile solution for guitarists who require authentic valve tone and modern digital integration.

The G25 is driven by a pair of 6V6 tubes (in the power amp section) and a pair of 12AX7 preamp tubes, supported by oversized transformers. Revv states that they still rate the amp at 20 watts, but just with more headroom, and it is voiced around the Revv’s Purple Channel tone.

This hardware configuration is specifically engineered to provide the low-end authority and headroom typically associated with much larger amplifiers, ensuring the unit can hold its own in a full-band environment.

Compact

Despite this power, the head remains small enough for single-handed transport, catering to the needs of touring musicians and session players alike. This two-channel amp is almost ‘back to basics’ for Revv, when compared to the multi-channel EL34-driven G50 amp head from 2024. This latest small-format head is more of an update to Revv’s G20 model.

If the G50 is too large for your needs, the G25 may be the solution you were looking for.

Two notes Audio Engineering

A defining characteristic of the G25 is its internal hardware. Revv has integrated a reactive load and impulse response (IR) technology powered by Two notes Audio Engineering.

This allows the amplifier to be operated safely without a speaker cabinet connected. Musicians can send a polished, miked-up signal directly to a recording interface or a front-of-house mixing console via a balanced XLR output. With six virtual cabinets accessible from the front panel, this compact amp head offers a consistent professional sound for silent practice or stage use where traditional microphones are impractical.

Flexible Amp Tones

Tonal flexibility remains a primary focus, as the G25 covers a spectrum ranging from glassy, articulate cleans to the aggressive, tight high-gain distortion that has become a hallmark of the Revv brand. A do-it-all style amp head, so potentially an ideal solution for gigging guitarists and session players.
