NAMM 2024

This year’s NAMM event was possibly the best one in quite some time. It was missing some of the larger guitar brands including Fender and Gibson, yet it still managed to reveal some pretty interesting new gear coming out in 2024. They have already confirmed NAMM 2025 for next January and it will be running between the 21st and 25th, and exhibits will take place between the 23rd and 25th.

This year we saw some great guitar releases and below are some of the highlights of the event.

Friedman The Plex

At Gearnews we are all huge fans of Dave Friedman’s work and now he has recreated his personal  1968 Marshall Plexi amp. Named The Plex it includes a built-in Variac, plus internal jumper controls which can be blended, plus a Master Volume.

Van Halen in a box

Dave states in the video that it sounds like Van Halen in a box, and we believe him! It doesn’t show up on their main site yet, at the time of writing this. However, I’m sure it will be up there very soon.

BluGuitar AMP X

Thomas Blug was also at NAMM 2024 showing off the latest pre-production version of the  BluGuitar AMP X and it sounds pretty damn fine.  He came up with the idea of creating an all-analog Nanotube amp a few years back, and this is the latest incarnation if you are interested and want to find out more then you can sign up to be notified once it gets an official release.
