The Positive Grid Spark CAB 2 refreshes the popular 10-inch cabinet by tightening the acoustics and updating the looks to match the Spark 2 series.
All core elements of the original Spark CAB design remain, like the 140W RMS Class-D amp with a 10-inch woofer and two 1-inch tweeters. Meanwhile, the internal acoustics have been optimized in the new Spark CAB 2, and the firmware can now be easily upgraded via USB-C.

The result of the acoustic tweaking is a tighter, more responsive overall sound with a cleaner low-end, which means less EQ work is required in studio or live sound environments to achieve that mix-ready sound. To ensure this even further, the internal signal path and the conversion stage have also been improved, for a more transparent sound.
At the same time, features like the I/O options remain the same as the previous model, with the stereo 3.5 mm Spark amp input, two XLR combo inputs, and a balanced XLR output with its own line-out volume control. Also, both mobile devices and Spark amps can be powered by the DC and USB-C ports, and there is still a Ground Lift switch and a Contour switch that adds a low-end and high-frequency boost for lower volumes.
On the Spark CAB 2, however, you can now upgrade to the latest firmware via USB-C, which is convenient, and the necessary power cables and adapters required for the Spark 2 are included. While the upgraded cosmetics and features on the Spark CAB 2 are certainly nothing major, the previous model was known to have a boomy low-end, which sometimes resulted in a slightly muffled tone.
This means that if you’re using it as more than just a practice rig, the new model is certainly worth a look. The Spark CAB 2 is available in black and pearl finishes, and it’s priced similarly to the previous version. Overall, the Spark CAB 2 is a versatile FRFR cabinet which is relatively lightweight for its size (3.5 kg / 29.76 lbs).
