Pigtronix has revamped the Echolution 2 and given it a much-needed facelift. The new Echolution 3 offers more features, and in a much smaller form factor than many other similar units.
Pigtronix Echolution 3
The new Echolution 3 from Pigtronix has four control knobs for: Time, Mix, Repeats and Mod, along with four mini-push switches that choose different functions, and continue to activate functions after holding them for a long time. In the upper left corner, for example, you set the divisions (also with Golden Mode); by keeping it pressed, you activate the Multi-Tap environment. The top right switch can act on speed, depth and tone. You can use the Special FX switch in the lower-left corner to set tap, reverse, jump (octave up) or (ping) pong modes.
Plus, there are 4 preset slots, which can be stored and retrieved either via the little pressure switch, or the footswitches.
Mono, Stereo, Multi-Tap
The effect pedal has two mono inputs and two mono outputs, a MIDI sync input, and another input for the in-house Universal Remote footswitch. And special FX, such as ping pong, will have a stereo mode.
The delay time ranges from 100 ms to 5 seconds and can be adjusted to the song by the tap Tempo Footswitch. You can also use the Multi-Tap to activate a second delay tap, which can optionally be heard via the “Gold Ratio” (0.382″).
Overall, it sounds like this will be a more than capable stereo delay, though we don’t have an exact release date currently. You can hear the new Echolution 3 in the official demo video below. For the money, I think it certainly gives you a lot of useful delay options and brings home the bacon.
