The Erica Synths PERKONS KEYS Is Real – and You Can Buy It!

Remember Erica Synths’ April Fools joke? Everyone chuckled at the thought of a PERKONS with keys. Well, it turns out that there’s more to it than just a social media post and a doctored photo. The PERKONS KEYS is very much real, and now you can buy it!

The PERKONS KEYS sits proudly at the Erica Synths booth at Superbooth. The unit on display is the only one ever built – and they’re auctioning it off! If you’ve always wanted a drum machine with a – without a doubt very useful – keyboard that only one person in the world will ever own, here’s your chance. The PERKONS KEYS is now up for auction on eBay with a starting bid of $2,300. According to developer Girts Ozolins, all proceeds of the auction will be donated to the Latvian animal shelter “Ķepu Ķepā”. The auction ends on Monday, 11 May 2026, at 11 PM CEST.

In the unlikely case that you prefer the standard version without keys, that’s available from Thomann*.

Mylar Melodies and Befaco RANDOM8: Randomize Everything!

You are currently viewing a placeholder content from YouTube. To access the actual content, click the button below. Please note that doing so will share data with third-party providers.

More Information

YouTuber Mylar Melodies has teamed up with Befaco to create RANDOM8, a super-versatile 8-channel random voltage generator in just 8 HP.

According to Mylar Melodies, RANDOM8 was born out of the desire to better improvise on modular systems. It can be anything from a pitch sequencer to a CV animator to an LFO – an “invisible pair of hands”, so to speak.

The module offers eight independent random voltage generators that can operate in stepped or smooth modes. By feeding trigger signals into the inputs, you get random voltages at the output sockets with every trigger. Channels are normalized, so triggering one channel causes all subsequent channels to also output voltages, unless something is plugged into their inputs.

Each channel also has a button that toggles between looping (repeating the last 32 steps indefinitely) and evolving, where voltages in memory change slowly over time. If you like what you hear, simply press again to lock that phrase in memory. To return to full randomness, double tap the channel button.

RANDOM8 is the kind of module that looks inconspicuous, but can make all the difference in a patch.

The module will be available on June 15, 2026 for €275.

Instruo íre: Bridging the Gap between your Eurorack and the Outside World

More Information

Instruo’s new module for Superbooth 26 is íre, a versatile interface module that helps bridge the gap between your Eurorack system and the outside world. íre lets you connect microphones, instruments, and line-level sources directly to your system while preserving clarity and color.

The module contains both a high-quality transformer-based microphone preamp with phantom power and a tube-like FET preamp for instrument and line-level sources. There’s also an 80 Hz high-pass filter for cleaning up the low end.

But íre can do even more. The module also includes an envelope follower and comparator, turning your incoming audio signal into control signals. Very nice!

Instruo íre will be available soon for £319.

Joranalogue Flow 3: A Filter that Sounds Bigger than it Looks

Joranalogue Audio Design has brought the new Flow 3 filter module to Superbooth. The compact 6 HP module offers a variation of the classic state variable topology with simultaneous lowpass, bandpass, and highpass outputs. According to Joranalogue, the analog filter offers exceptionally smooth resonance and can easily reach self-oscillation.

But Flow 3 has another trick up its sleeve. This is a filter that can modulate itself. For this, they’ve implemented a combined decay generator and envelope follower circuit that controls the filter frequency over an adjustable range. You can either trigger it externally or activate auto mode to follow the incoming audio signal.

You can now order Flow 3 from Thomann* for €215.

u-he CVilization Gets Quad VCO Mode

U-He CVilization

While u-he isn’t showing any new modules at Superbooth, they’ve announced an exciting update for CVilization. Originally, the module was all about manipulating CV in any imaginable way. Now, you can also use it as an oscillator – or four of them!

The new mode optionally replaces any of the standard operating modes, giving you four independent virtual analog oscillators with low aliasing and a wide frequency range. And it doesn’t end with standard waveforms: the Quad VCO mode for CVilization can also deliver stacked or detuned saws, chords, and PWM, and there’s even a sub-oscillator and an LFO.

The update is now available for download from the u-he website.

Vostok Instruments Halo: Multi-Channel Complex Modulator

Vostok Instruments Halo · Source: Vostok Instruments

Vostok Instruments Halo is a multi-channel modulator that generates up to 16 simultaneous signals in just 10 HP. At its core are four CV-controllable LFOs, each with triangle and square outputs and two selectable frequency ranges covering >2 minutes to 80 Hz. Very useful in and of itself.

But it’s the integrated logic section where things get interesting. This creates new waveforms from each channel pair (1/2 and 3/4) using analog boolean circuits for AND, OR, and XOR, as well as a mix of both channels. This means that Halo can generate a wide range of complex waveforms in addition to the basic waves.

Vostok Instruments Halo is now available for order from Thomann* for €199.
