When I think of pitch shifters, I inevitably come across the usual suspects like Whammy, Sub’n’Up, POG and OC2. I never had the pitch fork personally, which will change financially with the release of the pitch fork +, because the specs are quite extensive and independent.

EHX Pitch Fork +

The new EHX Pitch Fork + is not yet official, but a leak has already exposed the new analog-digital Big Muff PI Hardware Plugin or the Oceans 12 Reverb , now also the big brother of the original Pitch Fork pedal, the Electro-Harmonix for NAMM 2020 will present.

Features

Where there is a “plus” in the name, there are also more functions than with the small original. The specs in a nutshell:

  • 2 pitch shift engines
  • 3 octaves +/-
  • Detune 99 cents
  • Volume for Shift 1, Shift 2, Dry
  • Programmable foot switch
  • Expression & CV input
  • AUX Out
  • 100 presets

What more do you want from a pitch shifter of this size? The Latch and Momentary modes have been revised and it seems that it can be programmed quite extensively. The AUX can also be routed almost freely.

Everything is controlled directly on the device. There is also the well-known Value controller, which together with the push buttons fulfills other tasks.

It’s a shame that we don’t know a price yet . But EHX should also have something to tell about the NAMM . I’m really excited to see if the tracking is as good as the company says.

‘what more do I want’? I want MIDI. Only the Whammy DT, as far as I know, has that. CV is great, I’ll make do with that, but I really wish it had MIDI.

How are you supposed to recall your 99 presets?

If I didn’t have a Meris Hedra already this would be an automatic buy.
