With Winter NAMM 2020 almost upon us, Ibanez has just revealed a plethora of new guitars for its 2020 lineup, including plenty of new finishes on old favourites. Which is your favourite?
Winter NAMM signature lineup
Ibanez are ahead of the game this year, choosing to reveal its new models at the beginning of January. Amongst the many different guitars uploaded to its site are new colours for its signature George Benson model, the Joe Satriani models, a new Paul Stanley signature and also a new finish for the Munky signature guitar.
Ibanez RG and AZ finishes
Ibanez has also given the RG lineup a fresh new look for the new year, including plenty of burl tops with translucent finishes and even added some sparkle to some of the models. Again, the RGA, AZ and SA models have also undergone similar refreshes for 2020.
I’ve popped a few pictures below of the models that caught my eye and as you can see there are some bold finish options this year.
Semis and more
The semi-hollow models and bass guitars have also been refreshed. Browsing through these fresh new faces, it appears that Ibanez is going to be adding over a hundred new model variations this year. I would encourage you all to head over to the Ibanez site to read the full specifications on these new 2020 models.
Steve Vai and more?
No sight yet of any new Steve Vai signature model JEM guitars or any completely new models. However, I think that Ibanez still has some aces up its sleeve. We can expect new models to be announced at the show in a few weeks time.
If you fancy hazarding a guess as to what they will also reveal during the Winter NAMM event, feel free to leave a comment below and tell us what you think will be announced at NAMM. I’m hoping we see some more female artist guitars, similar to the Nita Strauss model from 2018.
