Mooer has been busy making new gear in time for a NAMM show release, we have already seen their two new Harmony and Tender Octaver X2 series pedals. Now, they have revealed these new GE1000 and GE1000Li Intelligent Multi Effects units, the latter includes a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. This gives users 6 hours of playing time from a single charge, which is more than welcome.

This “Li” version features a “Walking Star” design on the expression foot pedal controller. Apart, from that they appear to be functionally the same, each has A, B, and C footswitches and a pair of Bank Up/Down switches.

AI EQ

AI also plays a role in the Mooer GE1000. With the KI EQ, a 5-band equalizer is integrated that automatically adjusts to the guitar sound and playing style and thus gets the most out of your signal.

Feature Packed

Mooer has done their usual thing and managed to cram as many useful features into each unit. This makes these units a particularly great buy for anyone who needs a lot of flexibility but doesn’t need a ton of kit to achieve a quality result.

They offer 255 preset slots for effects and amp simulators, which I think is more than enough for most of us. Plus, users can access MOOER MNRS sample file support through the “GE Cloud” app, which opens up the ability to customise them to your tastes.

Touch Screen

At the heart of the user interface is a 5-inch coloured touchscreen and this should make navigating all these features a lot simpler. This is complemented by 6 rotatable dial controls and button controls.

A lot of bang for your buck

These two new virtual guitar rigs offer a lot of very useful features. I like that Mooer caters to expansion/customisation as well. Having the ability to add new sounds, or to use an extra wireless footswitch are great additions. Plus, having both MIDI and USB-C is a winner for me. The ability to integrate with other equipment, and to record to a DAW are things all musicians can benefit from.
