Introducing the Universal Audio Sphere modeling mics! This series of dual-channel microphones works in conjunction with a DSP modeling plug-in that runs natively or within the UAD Apollo system.

Rather than simply using EQ templates, Sphere processing models the three-dimensional response of an entire range of mics which gives you accurate representations of their unique characteristics with each virtual mic model.

Working with the Universal Audio Sphere

Any dual-channel mic preamp with phantom power can be used to drive the Sphere microphones, but one with precision-matched gain controls is recommended by the manufacturer.

Sphere LX

The Sphere LX gives you a basic introduction to the Sphere modeling system. Choose from a range of 20 different mic models and use the IsoSphere feature within the software to tighten and sculpt the response in any acoustic environment.

The LX model comes with a basic mic stand mount, a 10′ XLR lead, and a carry case to protect the mic from dust when it’s not in use. It is capable of using the Sphere mono processing technology and has a self-noise rating of 10dBA.

Sphere DLX

The larger DLX has a unique feature set, including stereo recording with the Sphere 180 feature. This also means you get a total of 38 mic models to work with for recording with both mono and stereo mic techniques.

In addition to the mic stand mount, the DLX includes a shock mount, a 25′ XLR lead, and a carrying case. It also features a lower self-noise rating of 7 dBA, making it suitable for capturing a wider range of sources.
