Squier Affinity Series Jazzmaster

Two new Super Affinity Series Jazzmaster models seem to have been leaked online. They are currently being listed as having thin and lightweight poplar bodies, with a slim, C-shaped maple neck. You also have an Indian Laurel fretboard with 21 medium jumbo frets and a synthetic bone nut, plus a set of die-cast sealed split-tuners. Both come with a modern 2-point tremolo bridge system.

Cool Colours

With a set of ceramic single-coil pickups, they won’t please purists. Also, you don’t get a traditional offset trem system with these budget models either, so they won’t be for everyone. But I do think the two new colours on offer will appeal to a wider audience, as both Lake Placid Blue and Burgundy Mist are both great choices. The Lake Place Blue model comes with a black pickguard and plastics, whereas the Burgundy Mist has white ones instead.

Both models were spotted on the Facebook Offset Guitars group and are on various Fender dealer sites across Europe. They are priced at RRP £269 / €299 each. As yet, neither model has been officially announced on the main Fender website, which still shows the older Black and White HH models.

Let us know if you would buy one of these new Squier Affinity Series Jazzmaster in these colours. And how do you feel about a modern 2-point trem system on an offset?
