A new Fender Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster has been leaked online! This updated version features a brand new finish and a maple neck and matching maple fretboard too.
Fender Troy Van Leeuwen Jazzmaster Copper Age
The Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist already has a signature Fender Jazzmaster* that was released a few years ago. As an owner of that model, I can confirm that it is a very nice take on a classic offset guitar, with a nice Oxblood finish.
Now comes news of a new Troy Van Leeuwen signature model. This guitar was leaked on a dealer site – and it’s a looker! It’s presented in a Copper Age finish with a maple bound fretboard with black blocks and black binding instead of the rosewood neck. I have added the specifications below, as it looks to have the same hardware and features as the previous signature guitar, just with this new finish and maple fretboard.
Maple and Black Blocks
The RRP is listed as £1372, so it looks like we have a new signature model Jazzmaster on the horizon. We don’t have any official details from Fender yet, but the specification list below has all the details.
The listing on the Fender website has the old Oxblood model listed still, however when you head to the bottom of the product page you can see photos of the new Copper Age finish.

Losing the Oxblood?
On the main Fender website the standard Oxblood version is listed as out of stock, so perhaps this new Copper version is intended as a replacement for TVL’s Oxblood Jazzmaster. Thomann’s web page indicates that the older Oxblood version will be back in stock in about 13 weeks, though. We’ll keep you up date as we hear more.
