The versatile ANNY series has now been expanded with a powerful new 12-inch model that joins the smaller 8-inch and 10-inch models in this mobile speaker family.
LD Systems ANNY 12
The ANNY 12 uses a 2-way speaker system with a crossover at 1600 Hz, driven by a 185W RMS Class D amplifier. The 12-inch bass driver has a 2-inch voice coil with a neodymium magnet, while the 1-inch tweeter uses a compression driver with constant directivity horn design, a 1.4-inch voice coil, and a ferrite magnet.
For the most part, the ANNY 12 carries over the bulk of the features from the 10-inch model. This includes the 6-channel mixer with 3-band, reverb, and delay, as well as support for up to 2 compatible wireless mics. In addition, there is Bluetooth 5 connectivity and TWS (True Wireless Stereo) functionality for pairing two ANNY speakers.
As the ANNY 12 is a larger speaker, it’s naturally more powerful, but the increased headroom means that the DynX® DSP (Gen. 2) optimization system isn’t quite as hands-on as with the other models in the range. When the replaceable battery is fully charged, you can get up to 50 hours of use in ECO mode, or 5 hours at full volume, which is impressive.
Connectivity also includes XLR combo inputs, RCA, stereo minijack, and even a foot switch input to trigger the effects. Overall, although it’s slightly heavier than the other ANNY models, the ANNY 12 has wheels for easy transportation, and the higher headroom system will provide wider coverage, even at lower volumes.

LD Systems ANNY 8: PA Speaker With Battery And Bluetooth
[1 October 2024] Julian Schmauch: LD Systems ANNY are battery-powered PA speakers that are ideal for spontaneous live gigs and performances, as well as speaking engagements and parties in the garden or park. The series is equipped with Bluetooth, a mixer, and many other practical features. You can even connect wireless microphones if you wish. The series started with the ANNY 10 and is now joined by version 8.
LD Systems ANNY 8 PA Speaker
The new LD Systems ANNY 8 is based on the same concept as the ANNY 10, but packs everything into a more compact form factor and comes in four colours.
As the name suggests, this 2-way speaker features an 8-inch woofer, complemented by a 1-inch tweeter. The portable full-range speaker is battery powered and comes with a 5-channel mixer with EQ and a range of effects. These can also be controlled via a connected footswitch. The internal DSP also ensures that the sound remains distortion-free and powerful even at high volumes.
This model can also be connected to a wireless microphone (in conjunction with the optional module), and the two analogue inputs are suitable for both wired microphones and line signals. A stereo input is also available via a 3.5mm jack or RCA. LD Systems ANNY 8 also streams music from smart devices via Bluetooth 5.0. Two models can be connected for a stereo setup. The tablet or smartphone holder is handy, and you can also charge them via the built-in USB-C input.
Compact, Powerful, And Portable PA Speaker
Apart from the slightly smaller size, there are no significant differences from version 10. However, the battery life is slightly shorter due to the size. According to the manufacturer, the LD Systems ANNY 8 can be used for up to 11 hours; at full volume, it lasted around 3.5 hours. However, the battery can easily be replaced at any time with a fully charged spare battery (available as an option)!
The new model’s small size makes it suitable for a wide range of applications. Another practical feature is the angled rear of the cabinet, which allows the speaker to be tilted backwards for use as a stage monitor. The ANNY 8 can also be easily mounted on a speaker stand with its 35mm flange. There is also a carrying handle for easy transport. There’s even a rucksack to go with it.
Prices And Availability of ANNY 8
LD Systems ANNY 8 is now available from Thomann*. Prices start at £461.00 / 548.00€ for the basic version (excluding the wireless module for the wireless microphones). The pre-launch in the USA is scheduled for 14 October. In addition to the four colour variants Stage Black, Pure White, Adventure Green and Urban Grey, various bundles are also available.

A Battery-powered PA Speaker With Pro Features
LD Systems ANNY 10 is the start of a new series for the manufacturer. This active 2-way full-range loudspeaker comes with a 10-inch woofer and a 1-inch tweeter. It also has a built-in 6-channel mixer with a 3-band EQ and additional effects (reverb, delay).
Connect two microphones wirelessly
A wireless connection for microphones is available in addition to Bluetooth. You can connect up to two wireless microphones. Therefore, you can also get various bundles, including wireless microphones and their corresponding receivers and the speaker. This bundle has two rear slots for receiver modules with their own volume control and sync function.
All wireless components in the bundle are also available separately and compatible with future ANNY models! So if you get the basic system first, upgrading later is no issue.
Version 10 offers a DSP-based vocal mode and an optional priority mode for voice applications. This allows you to determine which of the two connected microphones (wired or wireless) should be given priority. When you use the prioritized microphone, the PA speaker automatically reduces the volume of all the other signals.
Use LD Systems ANNY anywhere you need
The rechargeable battery in this PA speaker, which is already available, promises a runtime of up to 25 hours. Even at maximum volume, LD Systems still certifies 5 hours. The LD Systems ANNY 10’s compact housing, including wheels and a telescopic handle, is easy to move. The speaker weighs 18 kilograms. The 35 mm stand flange makes installing the speaker on stands no problem.
The manufacturer also offers a matching water-repellent transport bag with additional storage space for mobile use. This seems to be a great PA speaker with a rechargeable battery, Bluetooth, and DSP. The optional expansion with wireless microphones naturally extends the possibilities, making the portable speaker suitable for various applications.
