Kramer is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a run of gold-finished models, with a little of something for everyone. Aside from the ultra-modern Volante, this run of six models all offer classic Kramer shred-tastic, 80s goodness.

These limited-edition models come equipped with Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolos paired with R2 locking nuts and Kramer Eruption PRO humbuckers. They all come in a premium Kramer gig bag and are aimed squarely at those who like to shred.

SM-1 HH

Sitting right at the top of the vintage-inspired hierarchy is the SM-1 HH. Heavily influenced by the revered Stagemaster Mach II, this model opts for an upscale neck-through mahogany design flanked by matching mahogany wings.

It pairs a traditional 25.5-inch scale length with a 24-fret ebony fretboard. Dual Eruption PRO pickups have a series/parallel mini-toggle for the neck position, providing an expanded palette of tones

NightSwan

Keeping the compact, mahogany-bodied ergonomics of the original intact, the NightSwan features a bolt-on three-piece hard maple neck finished in a fast satin coat. Its slim C-shaped neck profile hosts an ebony fretboard complete with the instantly recognisable “ping pong” dot inlays.

Two Eruption PRO humbuckers power this model.

The 84

Purists looking for the ultimate 1980s hot-rod experience will immediately gravitate toward The 84. This model utilises a lightweight alder body paired with a bolt-on hard maple neck and a maple fretboard shaped to the ultra-quick K-Speed SlimTaper C profile.

It keeps things blissfully simple with a single, direct-mounted Eruption PRO humbucker in the bridge position. A push/pull volume pot switches between series and parallel, giving players versatility from a single-pickup layout.

Baretta

Next up is another single-pickup model, the Baretta. However, this version shifts the tonal character by utilising a bright, punchy maple body, a three-piece maple neck, and an ebony fretboard.

Like its sibling, the Baretta relies on a single Eruption PRO pickup with push/pull wiring for added flexibility.

Pacer Carrera

The Pacer Carrera comes with a maple body and a matching bolt-on maple neck; its dark ebony fretboard is left completely blank. Stripped back and minimalist, so if you don’t like fretboard dots, this could be the one for you.

It is loaded with twin Eruption PRO humbuckers, dedicated individual tone controls, and a three-way toggle switch.

Volante HHFR

Finally, the Volante HHFR rounds out the run of six models. This model stands apart by being the only model with a pickguard and by introducing a thermally aged three-piece maple neck anchored by Kramer’s KeyLock neck stabilisation system, which they state will drastically improve vibrational transfer, intonation, and sustain across the alder body.

It comes with a 10-14” compound radius ebony fretboard and 24 jumbo frets, it swaps out the Eruption pickups for a pair of premium Kramer USA Neptune humbuckers with a five-way switching system.

This one is the most expensive of the bunch, but only by one hundred dollars, so not too bad considering the extras it offers.

I guess some Kramer fans will try to get one of each!
