Knobcon Number Nine is finally confirmed as going ahead this weekend 10th-12th September after suffering all the usual Covid chaos. It is on!

This will make for a rather nice aperitif leading up to Superbooth the following week. Knobcon is the North American synthesizer convention with dozens of exhibitors, workshops, lectures and live music covering two whole days over the weekend.

Amongst the events you’ll find synth guru Marc Doty dismantling a Coastal Metaphor, Enrique Martinez sampling and generating with Circuit Rhythm and Tracks, Fred Becker covering Additive Synthesis and you can learn the basics of Synth DIY and soldering with Zlob Modular.

They’ll be live music from the likes of Moot Booxle, Kri Samadhi, Trovarsi, Scott Danesi, Dysonant and the North Coast Collective Relay Performance, plus much much more

It’s shaping up to be a fun and interactive weekend at the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg just outside Chicago. Tickets are $60 for the weekend and you can stay in the Hyatt hotel from $104 a night. Knobcon is the brainchild of John “Suit & Tie Guy” Drake who builds modular under the brand STG Soundlabs and has worked hard to bring this convention into being after cancellations and restrictions over the last year. I hope it’s a big success for them.
