Jackson Pro Rob Cavestany: Death Angel’s Thrash Axe Reimagined
The most evil-looking guitar on the market?
Jackson and Death Angel’s lead guitarist have done it again: the new signature model Jackson Pro Rob Cavestany has everything the original from 2022 was popular for. But this time, they went for a Snow White finish and refined the iconic body shape.
Pro Series Signature Rob Cavestany Death Angel, Snow White
Cavestany’s lightning-fast lead parts on his iconic Jackson Custom guitar are one of the main things thrash metal fans associate with Death Angel. Outside of V-Shaped models, this body shape just screams metal. And if you’ve seen it once, you’ll never forget it.

Fans of Cavestany had been asking for a signature model for years, but outside of the Jackson Custom Shop, you couldn’t get one. Then in 2022, their prayers were heard. The first Jackson Pro Rob Cavestany signature model was released in black.
Four years later, and that model is hard to find these days. So Jackson and Rob have done it again, this time with a refined body shape and a new color: Show White.
Nyatoh Body, Through-body Maple Neck
Cavestany and Jackson went back to the drawing board and refined the iconic body shape. But fret not, they only went for details, the shape isn’t going anywhere. From what I understand, they’ve worked on the edges of the X-shaped body, making them smoother and less pointy.

We’re still getting a light Nyatoh body, a through-body maple neck, and a 12″-16″ compound radius ebony fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets and pearloid sharkfin inlays. Besides the white color, this is the second visual difference from the first iteration, where even the inlays were black.
EMGs and Floyd-Rose
In terms of hardware (all-black) and pickups (also all-black), the Jackson Pro Rob Cavestany features the same high-grade parts as the original. This signature model is for dive-bombers and heavy-benders, because with the Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo bridge and the die-cast tuners and dual-locking strap buttons, you’d basically have to break the strings if you want them out of tune.

The pickup configuration is still an EMG affair. There’s an EMG 81 humbucker at the bridge that gets you all the sustain and that cuts through the densest arrangements easily. If you need a warmer tone with more harmonics, the EMG HA at the neck will be your friend.
To combine or switch between them, the Jackson Pro Rob Cavestany features the standard three-way switch and just a single volume knob.
How much does the Jackson Pro Rob Cavestany cost?
You can order the Jackson Pro Rob Cavestany now from Thomann* for $1,333 / £1,190 / €1,369.
