The new SPL Phonitor 3 DAC combines a top-quality headphones amp, monitor controller, and DA converter in one unit with a range of features for listening, mixing, and mastering workflows.
The Phonitor 3 DAC uses SPL’s 120V DC audio rail technology for extended headroom and dynamics. Now, when you add the power of the Phonitor matrix, you get a truly flexible solution.
SPL Phonitor 3 DAC: High-end flexibility
The Phonitor matrix uses analogue circuitry to provide ways to correct the unnatural stereo image created on headphones. The adjustable controls for crossfeed, angle, and center allow you to precisely replicate your ideal stereo-monitoring image.
In addition, there is a new Laterality control, for balancing the stereo image while monitoring.
With up to 32-bit 768 kHz conversion, the Phonitor 3 DAC has inputs for USB, AES, optical, and coaxial, which provides connectivity for both audio pros and audiophile consumers.
M-S monitoring is also an interesting feature, and the polarity function means that you can monitor either the mid or side discretely.
Need to check levels while mixing or mastering? The VU meters have three different calibration settings, so you can read them accurately even when high signal levels are present.
On the rear panel, there are two sets of analogue inputs and a set of DIP switches for customizing routings and gain settings to suit your specific application.
