The iConnectivity PlayAUDIO2D is a digital hybrid audio interface with 8×32 Dante digital audio networking added to the analog foundation of the PlayAUDIO2U.

For Dante users in live sound environments, iConnectivity has released a new version of the PlayAUDIO2U with network audio flexibility and Dante redundancy for added stability for a wide range of touring setups.
iConnectivity PlayAUDIO2D
With the PlayAUDIO2D, you can send up to 32 channels of digital audio via network to a Dante-equipped console being used for front-of-house or monitor mixing and receive 8 channels into your host computers for live processing with software. This means you don’t need additional analog stage boxes, and the first 24 channels are mirrored across both the analog and digital outputs simultaneously.

As its name suggests, the PlayAUDIO2U is a tanky 2U rack-mountable unit, ruggedly constructed to withstand the ups and downs of life on the road. Looking at the front panel, you might mistake it for a recording interface at first, but on closer inspection, the output configuration of the PlayAUDIO2U defines it as a tool for the stage.
For playback redundancy protection, the PlayAUDIO2U has two USB-C inputs for 24-bit/96 kHz DAW integration. This allows the system to instantly switch over should one of the laptops fail during a performance. Besides the 24 balanced XLR outputs on the rear panel, there are four high-quality XLR combo preamp inputs for processing vocals and instruments.
The MIDI connectivity is also extensive, with 5-pin outputs on the front and back, as well as two Ethernet MIDI ports for long-range routing of up to 22 ports. This allows you to sequence program changes or send CC messages to devices anywhere in the venue with the reliable accuracy you require in live music environments.
In addition, there are footswitch inputs and four customizable function buttons, so you can set the PlayAUDIO2U up to suit your particular stage configuration, and the accompanying Auracle software lets you adjust any settings quickly and easily. Overall, the PlayAUDIO2U is a complete modern solution for live touring acts.
