Era C
Hughes & Kettner has just launched its new compact 60-watt Era C acoustic amp combo with built-in effects and four independent channels (see below for details). This allows users to connect guitars, microphones, and playback devices, making it perfect for small venues and practice sessions.
It can handle your backing tracks via Bluetooth, so you can easily stream them to the amp.
Compact Gig Ready
The square cube format is compact and available in either Black or Wood finishes, and it features a built-in kickstand for better projection, or it can be mounted on a standard 32mm speaker pole/stand and used as a mini-PA system.
When playing, the amp offers independent EQ and FX controls for channels 1 and 2, so you can easily balance your sound. Plus, there is an adjustable notch filter (41–180 Hz) to help eliminate feedback frequencies when you play.
It has phantom power for microphones, and the built-in effects include 5 reverbs and 3 delays. They have also included a DI output with a ground-lift facility, and it features a pre/post FX switch.
Channels 1 & 2: Instruments & Vocals
These two channels are completely identical and highly versatile, allowing you to plug in two instruments, two vocalists, or one of each.
Inputs: Each channel features an XLR/Jack combo socket equipped with switchable phantom power for condenser microphones.
Controls: You can fine-tune your sound using the dedicated gain control, 3-band EQ, -10 dB pad, Shape switch, and Mute button.
Effects: A built-in, channel-specific FX engine gives you access to eight different effects, including reverb and delay.
Channel 3: Aux In
Input & Purpose: This 3.5 mm stereo input is designed to connect external audio sources like a phone, tablet, or laptop, allowing you to easily adjust the playback volume.
Channel 4: FX Return
Input & Purpose: This 6.3 mm (1/4″) stereo input lets you connect and adjust the levels for line-level gear or external effects processors.
Who is it for?
If you are an acoustic player and need to do smaller, intimate gigs, this lightweight 6.2 kg (the wood version is 6.4kg) combo could be just what is needed. It also comes with a padded carrying bag with an accessory pocket with a hook-and-loop closure for cables, picks, and small items like clip-on tuners/capos.
These smaller Class D amps are lightweight, and 60 watts of power should be enough for small bars and cafes, etc. It will also make a useful practice amp for musicians who want to perform at home or in a rehearsal studio.

The new Hughes & Kettner Era C is available now at Thomann, priced at $391/£354/€399 in black or $489/£443/€499 in wood. Plus, the optional gig bag for it costs €58.
