Plus, Mystery Nuno Bettencourt guitar spotted
This week, we check out the Oasis Mystery Gibson Les Paul P90 loaded guitar played by Noel Gallagher, spotted by fans. Another mystery guitar was spotted being played by Nuno Bettencourt, as he warmed up to play at the Black Sabbath show this weekend, so we look at that one as well. Finally, Jack White is looking for his long-lost guitar and has shared details of this much-loved instrument.

Oasis Mystery Gibson Les Paul
Oasis kicked off their new Live ’25 dates this weekend, and a lot of guitar fans spotted this mystery Gibson Les Paul. Thankfully, the mystery was solved over the weekend, so we have some details of this P90-equipped Les Paul Custom.
Murphy Lab Custom
All eyes were on Cardiff over the weekend for the highly anticipated return of the band (if you weren’t watching Black Sabbath, that is), and some Oasis fans might have noticed Noel’s new Les Paul guitar.
This guitar, which appeared several times throughout the night, features a Murphy Lab aged body and aged hardware, along with P-90 pickups.
It’s finished with Les Paul Custom-style binding, though it notably many eagle-eyed fans have spotted that it has a non-bound headstock.
Lee Bartram, Head of Marketing & Cultural Influence EMEA at Gibson, shared some images of the guitar via his Instagram account. Thanks to this, we have a nice close-up of the guitar wielded by Noel at the gig.
Maybe
Noel has worked with Gibson previously on the Custom Shop 1960 ES-335 and the limited run of only 20 1978 Les Paul Customs. Therefore, it makes a lot of sense for him to be playing something tasty at the Oasis comeback gigs.
Maybe this new P90 model will find its way into a full production model in the future?
Nuno Mystery Guitar
The Black Sabbath Back to the Beginning final show was also this weekend, and many Nuno Bettencourt fans are asking what guitar he is seen playing on his way to the gig.
Washburn N4
As Nuno is known for playing a Washburn N4, he has shared a video on Instagram of him warming up with a mystery ‘Nuno’ guitar whilst sitting in the back of a car on the way to the show.
This guitar clearly says ‘Nuno’ on the headstock in the video, and this is very unusual for the Extreme guitarist, who almost always wields a Washburn.
Are we going to see a new signature guitar from him? Or is it just a one-off model for Nuno?
A Nuno Variation
He has had variations on the N4 over the years, including a Tele-style model I wrote about back in 2020.
Either way, it is great to see him working on his chops before such a prestigious gig!
Jack White’s Lost Love
Jack White has taken to Instagram with a special request for his fans: help him track down a specific Gibson ES-120T guitar he sold as a teenager. The White Stripes frontman posted a photo of a similar model, explaining his regret over parting with his original instrument years ago.
White’s post reveals that the black-burst ES-120T was a gift from his cousin, Paul Ossy (who also contributed to The White Stripes’ album De Stijl). He sold the guitar at a Gordy’s guitar show in Detroit in the early 1990s, using the proceeds to buy a two-pickup Silvertone amp-in-case model.
Etched Secret
To confirm the authenticity of the guitar, White states, “I etched something under the truss rod cover that only I know.” He urges anyone who might find it to contact him.
The comments section of White’s Instagram post has already yielded some potential breakthroughs. One user claims to have “a guitar just like it” with an etched truss rod cover, offering to send a picture if White accepts their message.
While the exact location of White’s original guitar remains a mystery, he’s hopeful that with the help of his fans, it might finally be returned to him.
We’ll update you if the guitar is found.
