According to the developer, the plugin offers a close simulation of the original hardware. Aimed at budget-conscious musicians, the original Six-Trak featured a typical 80s-style push-button interface that allowed for editing one parameter at a time. You first had to type in the parameter number to be able to edit its value using the single knob – not very intuitive. Thankfully, Full Bucket Music’s version offers an additional extended editing section at the bottom, where you’ll find plenty of rotary knobs for tweaking. All parameters are also MIDI-controllable.

As the name suggests, the Six-Trak was able to produce six different sounds simultaneously, which made it one of the first multi-timbral synthesizers. Full Bucket Music’s emulation retains this functionality, although the maximum polyphony has been increased to up to 96 voices. You can send each track to an individual output. Like the original, the Six-Traq plugin also offers an onboard sequencer, as well as an arpeggiator.

Furthermore, Six-Traq comes with a convenient patch browser for storing and recalling presets and programs. With 64 presets, each of which can hold up to 100 programs and two sequences, the plugin offers a whole lot more storage than the original.

Oh by the way, Full Bucket, got two requests for you, MC202 and the Casiotone MT400v, neither of which are MIDI, but could be, in your expert VST hands. Oh and please keep the VST2 versions, as I ain’t upgrading 1500 plugins, OS and DAW, life’s too short! 😎
