Little Sister Head & Pink Taco V2

The new Friedman Little Sister Head is an updated Mini Dirty Shirley, and the Pink Taco V2 does the same for the Pink Taco head. Both of these 20-watt all-tube mini amp heads now have a few added controls. Making these already great-sounding tube amps even more flexible.

Combos

The two new amps are also available as combos. These come loaded with a single 12” Celestion G12M-65 Creamback speaker in the cabinet.

So what is new?

Well, apart from the new names and new black front panel for the Pink Taco V2, you now get two extra voicing switches. The main controls are as follows on both amps. They have Bass, Middle, Treble, Master and Gain as before. But now you have Gain Structure Switch that reduces gain, B-Switch which adjusts Bright/Tight on the Little Sister.

Whereas the Pink Taco V2 comes with a Fat Switch to achieve a thicker timbre and a new Sat Switch for more saturation. The previous S-Switch for gain structure, from the original version, is still there as well.

Made in Los Angeles, California

Plus that Ultra transparent series FX loop makes these amps so versatile for anyone into pedals. These twin EL84-driven tube amps use three 12AX7 preamp tubes and have a cathode-biased circuit. They use custom-made transformers and capacitors in their design. Each of them has 4, 8 and 16-ohm jacks for compatibility with various cabinets.

Dave Friedman is a great amp designer and his take on the classic British and Plexi-style amps is one that I really enjoy using. I own an original Pink Taco and find it to be a super versatile amp for recording, gigging and home use. These new tweaks to the formula will no doubt be popular with guitarists.
