EVE Audio unveils the SC4070 studio monitor
EVE Audio celebrates its 10th anniversary with the introduction of the SC4070 studio monitor. The SC4070 is a quad-amped midfield/main monitor that can be used vertically or horizontally.

After last year’s introduction of the 3-way SC3070, Berlin-based manufacturer EVE audio is back with another new active midfield/main monitor. The new SC4070 replaces the SC407. Like its predecessor, it’s a 4-driver design that can be used in vertical or horizontal orientation.
The SC4070 features two 6.5-inch SilverCone woofers with 1.5-inch voice coils. EVE Audio says that their bass response extends down to 32 Hz. The upper limit of the woofers’ range is 280 Hz. They are joined by a 4-inch SilverCone midrange driver. All three feature low-distortion copper cap magnet systems, fiberglass-coated diaphragms and honeycomb structures. According to EVE Audio, this ensures a detailed and clear sound.
Like most of EVE Audio’s speakers, the SC4070 features the company’s proprietary AMT (Air Motion Transformer) HF tweeter. This particular model is called AMT 3.1 and has been redesigned with new materials, improved inner damping and a more efficient magnet field, EVE Audio says. The company claims that the AMT reaches up to 40 kHz and delivers high sound pressure levels with virtually no distortion.
Each of the four speakers is powered by its own dedicated Class-D amp module, each delivering up to 250 Watts. This yields a max. SPL of 126 dB, EVE Audio says.
Like all EVE Audio monitors, the SC4070 features BurrBrown A/D converters and DSP electronics. The rotary encoder on the front panel allows you to adjust the filters for room variables (low shelf, mid EQ and high shelf) and the system volume.
