Ernie Ball Music Man October’s Ball Family Reserve collection has just been announced. It features a Majesty and a seven-string JP15 signed by John Petrucci, plus a fretless Stingray bass.
Majesty BFR 2019 Dargie Green 3
The new limited edition Ernie Ball Music Man Majesty BFR 2019 Dargie Green 3 is a bit of a stunner (if you like the shape and colour). It also has a Runway ebony fretboard, outlined with two strips of white pearl, inlaid across the entire length of the fretboard. A fantastic touch, I think.
You get that great floating Music Man trem design paired with a set of locking tuners, so the guitar will hold its tuning with no problems.
The Rainmaker and Dreamcatcher John Petrucci signature humbuckers are wired via an active preamp and an onboard boost. So expect modern, clean articulate tones from this guitar. Each one is signed by John Petrucci and also includes a numbered certificate of authenticity, plus a hardshell case.

JP15 7 String BFR 2019 Blood Orange Burst
Another Petrucci signature model, but this time a 7-string with even more bling. The JP17 7-string comes in an eye catching, custom Blood Orange Burst finish on its mahogany body. It’s an intense but pleasing look for the spalted maple top.
It has practically the same pickup and hardware as the Majesty model above, just in 7-string format. Again, you get a numbered certificate of authenticity, plus a hardshell case.

Stingray H Fretless BFR 2019 Sierra Vintage
This fretless Stingray H bass has a swamp ash body that is finished in Sierra Vintage and has a caramelised highly figure roasted maple neck.The finish is also super glossy the neck, so make the grain really pop!
It has a 34-inch scale length and a single neodymium active humbucker wired via a three-band EQ, master volume and 18-volts of headroom, and so should have plenty of grunt and spank.
