Ernie Ball Music Man describes the Ball Family Reserve as “a celebration of the company’s heritage in instrument craftsmanship”. The guitar maker has just announced three new models for it’s April 2020 collection: the Gremlin Sparkle Majesty, Brilliant Blue StingRay and Scarlet Red Cutlass SSS electric guitars.

Majesty in Gremlin Sparkle

First up is the new John Petrucci signature model Majesty guitar, which gets a brand new Gremlin Sparkle finish. Each one is covered head to toe in the sparkling finish and has black hardware throughout – bridge, knobs, tuners, switches, pole pieces and backplates. There’s also a hand-signed Petrucci signature on the tremolo cover.

This run is limited to only 89 guitars worldwide.

Majesty in Gremlin Sparkle

StingRay in Brilliant Blue

Next up is this very fancy looking StingRay model in Brilliant Blue, with a lightweight okoume body. It has a roasted figured maple neck and an ebony fretboard with pearlescent white block position markers. Again, a lot of black hardware here, just like the Majesty above, but this time, the pickups covers are chrome.

Limited to only 52 pieces worldwide.

StingRay in Brilliant Blue

Cutlass in Scarlet Red

Last of the trio in this month’s release is the Cutlass, in a nice bright Scarlet Red finish. The finish is applied to both the lightweight alder body as well as the headstock. The neck on this model is a satin-finished roasted figured maple neck and maple fretboard with larger white position markers and hand fitted white binding. It might not be the fanciest of the three, but it has a classic colour combination that should appeal to the more reserved fan of Ernie Ball Music Man instruments.

Only 51 of each of this model will be available.
