EBMM Tim Commerford Artist Series StingRay Bass
Tim Commerford active and passive StingRay Bass models are now officially a standard release
The Tim Commerford Artist Series StingRay Bass range features new colours and follows the limited-run release from Ernie Ball Music Man in December 2024. They are now a standard release and have launched in three new finishes.
Tim Commerford Artist Series StingRay Bass
Created in close collaboration with legendary bassist Tim Commerford of Rage Against the Machine, Audioslave, and 7D7D, the Tim Commerford Artist Series StingRay Bass combines Ernie Ball Music Man craftsmanship with Tim’s unique design preferences.
The two new standard colours look great and both versions of this model are available once more.
Active & Passive
There are two versions of this signature model one is a passive model in Fight Night White, the other an active version in Caliper Red. Plus a Vault Exclusive Natural Finish which is only available direct from EBMM for each version.
All basses has an ash body and come standard with necks finished in oil and wax, made from roasted maple with an ebony fretboard. They also include a compensated nut and a sculpted 5-bolt neck join, providing full access to all 22 stainless steel frets.
Humbucker
The StingRay humbucking pickup is built with powerful neodymium magnets, giving an increased output and a broader range of tones. For a more comfortable fingerstyle playing experience, it includes a beveled pickup cover with a thumb rest and an adjustable finger ramp.
Both models are equipped with this pickup system, and then you can opt for either a passive or an active version of the Stingray bass, so you will need to make up your mind on which one to buy.
Fight Night White
The Tim Commerford Passive bass is equipped with a 3-position rotary switch that allows you to select between parallel, single-coil, and series pickup configurations. It also features a push-volume control for a passive gain boost.
Caliper Red
This active model is built for aggressive tone-shaping, featuring a powerful neodymium humbucker, an 18-volt preamp, and a 3-band EQ. It includes black hardware, a string-through-body bridge with red mute pads, and Tim’s custom height-adjustable finger ramp.
Price & Availability
I’m sure this release will please a lot of RATM fans who missed out on the opportunity to grab one of last year’s limited run models.
Both the Fight Night White and Caliper Red models are available to order now at Thomann, priced at £3555/€3999 each.
