SSL Vocalstrip 2 on sale at Plugin Boutique
SSL’s Vocalstrip 2 plug-in focuses SSL’s audio engineering expertise towards vocal processing. More specifically, the plug-in combines four processing elements to accomplish a complete vocal effects chain. Vocalstrip 2 features EQ and Dynamics sections with essential vocal processors to bring power, character and clarity to vocal tracks.
The chain is complete by dynamic envelope-based de-esser and de-ploser, as well as a compander to smooth out vocals and bring them to the front of the mix. The 3-band SSL EQ offers tone shaping with highpass, asymmetric notch, and air bands. The EQ curves are rendered in real-time for visual feedback.
I’m a huge fan of the SSL sound and workflow. As SSL Native plug-ins go on sale, I’ll be building up my collection of SSL plug-ins to have them as my go-to mix and production tools. Vocalstrip 2 is currently on sale for EUR 19, down from EUR 199. It’s an excellent opportunity to add it to your arsenal.

That’s (almost) 90% off, not 70%.
There does not seem to be a deal for US customers. Price lists as $182
They may call them native, but they are definitely not M1 native, or even Monterey. In fact they won’t even run on Monterey on an M1, even in Rosetta. The response I got from them: “your computer is the problem.” M1 is now in its third iteration, with the dev kit having been out for almost 2 years, and it seems they have ignored it entirely. When I asked when they would have a version that would run on modern Macs, they said “in due time.”
Works on my M1, but I wouldn’t put Monterey on my Mac mini yet, so I suspect it must be an issue with that OS version. If you have a new Mac with Monterey pre-installed you are kid of stuck, but I have also heard that many other ‘pro apps’ are having issues with Monterey, and lots of Thord party audio plugins are on that list. I worked at Apple for over 15 years, and as a rule would always avoid the latest OS release for any of my studio machines, but like I said earlier, you are kind of stuck with it the you buy the latest machines that have it pre-installed.
