Synthmaster Player is the preset player version of Synthmaster. That means that you don’t get access to all features of the underlying synth engine. What you do get, though, is a huge library of 1800 presets, which use exactly the same synthesis engine as the full version of Synthmaster.
Every preset can be tweaked using eight knobs and two X/Y pads. In Synthmaster Player, the controllable parameters are built into the presets and cannot be changed. But you still get a good deal of control over the sounds for live tweaking. While Synthmaster Player isn’t a sound design tool, it’s a great library of synth sounds using various methods of synthesis. So if you’re looking for a boatload of presets which are playable right out of the box, don’t let this offer pass.
Compatibility and price
Synthmaster Player is completely free until the end of October 2019. After that, the plug-in will return to its regular price of USD 29. It runs on Windows 7 and up and Mac OS X 10.7 and up as a VST, AU and AAX plug-in (32/64 bit).
Synthmaster Player is also available as an AUv3 plug-in for iOS devices. It runs on iOS 9.0 or higher and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. It supports Audiobus and inter-app audio for integration into an iOS DAW.
