Cort has updated its Cort X700 Duality to Version II, incorporating design input from progressive guitarist Hedras Ramos. The new version of this affordable high-performance guitar is loaded with Fishman Fluence Open Core Classic humbuckers, and incorporates a mahogany body. Has Cort designed a winner?
Cort X700 Duality II
Released in 2019, the previous incarnation of Cort’s flagship model came with a swamp ash body. V2 uses mahogany, giving you a slightly different tone and feel. It’s loaded with a set of the Fishman Fluence Open Core Classic humbucking pickups and has some unique switching possibilities via the five-way blade switch. What’s interesting here is the guita’s capability to access a range of versatile coil pairings, including a combination of both humbucker inner-coils at the same time. You also have a a master volume knob and push-pull tone pot, so you can get single-coil tones from the humbuckers as well.

Cort Duality II in Lava Burst
Polar Ice Burst and Lava Burst
Cort is offering the X700 Duality II in Polar Ice Burst and a Lava Burst finish over a contoured mahogany body. The 25.5 scale length, three-piece maple/panga panga neck is loaded with an ebony fretboard and 24 stainless steel frets, abalone dot inlays and Luminlay glow-in-the-dark side dots. The hardware includes a set of Cort staggered locking tuners and a Cort CFA-III tremolo.
With the impressive switching options and quality specifications, this new 2022 Cort Duality II model could be a winner. This new model is due out towards the beginning of March this year and comes in at over grand, which is about right for the specifications of this guitar.
