Dimension Shifter: Casio’s Guitar Strap FX Control!
Dimension Shifter - Wireless, Bluetooth B-Bender style FX control

The Casio Dimension Shifter is the renamed (and finally available) Dimension Tripper we first told you about in 2024. It’s now at NAMM 2026 and just as whacky as before!
Casio Dimension Shifter
Dimension Shifting FX
In 2024, I described it as a “Digital B-Bender that Modulates,” and that is pretty much what the Casio Dimension Shifter is. The product was being crowd-funded in Japan at the time; two years later, it is finally available to order from Casio as a regular product.
It’s been in development for 3+ years, and in 2026, it is back with an updated name.
How Does It Work?
Seamlessly turning movement into music, the Dimension Shifter harnesses the natural tension of your guitar strap. As you move or lean, the device translates your movements into digital commands, which it beams wirelessly to a pedalboard receiver.
Simply connect the receiver to your gear’s expression port with a TRS cable to control your sound through motion. Therefore, you are essentially replacing an expression pedal with the Dimension Shifter, and operating it with a ‘B-Bender’ style pull on your guitar strap.
It is powered by 2 AAA batteries for the strap muonted unit and uses an AC adapter for the floor unit. With up to 10 m of range, it is pretty usable for gigging musicians, so no worries there.
Yvette Young
The demo/teaser video with Yvette Young shows what to expect, and it looks like it could be fun to use. My only concern would be “how long it will last” and whether I could accidentally break it, but I guess that could also be said for some expression pedals as well.
Transmit Your Control
It consists of the strap-mounted transmitter and a floor-based receiver. The strap-mounted motion sensor translates your movement into dynamic effect control and sends this to the receiver. Bluetooth does all the heavy lifting in terms of wireless connectivity.
Finally, the illuminated receiver (with integrated preset switching) sends the expression data to your pedal via an industry-standard TRS cable. This means it will work with any standard pedal or multi-effects that has an “Expression In” or “EXP” jack. Nice!
Adjustable
The transmitter’s strap tension is adjustable, so you can set the expression’s sensitivity. Then the receiver offers options for INV (inverse sweep) and HOLD (effect freeze).
Price & Availability
The whole setup costs $299.99 and could be a fun way for musicians to interact with a pedalboard or even a DAW. The Dimension Shifter is available directly from Casio and can be ordered now on their website.
Verdict
It looks like fun, and you can use it in conjunction with lots of standard effect pedals, which is also appealing. If you aren’t very coordinated, it may be easier than using your foot to waggle, for example, an envelope filter or a similar effect.
