Let’s take a closer look at these new tools and see where they fit into video production workflows in each case.

ATEM Television Studio HD 8 and HD 8 ISO

The new ATEM Television Studio HD 8 goes far beyond being a live switcher and offers a comprehensive portable solution for broadcast and video streaming and recording. It offers 8 x 3G-SDI inputs, multiview, DVE, keyers, USB webcam, media players, talkback, and optional cloud storage.

In addition, the top-of-the-range ISO model was also launched with the ability to record all its video input feeds and work with 8 remote cameras. Live streaming is also supported across both models, along with talkback and optional internal storage.

ATEM Television Studio HD8 will be available soon from your favourite retailer at a price of $2,995 MSRP. While the ATEM Television Studio HD8 ISO retails for $3,995 MSRP.

Blackmagic Studio Camera 6K Pro and 4K Pro G2

The Studio Camera 6K Pro is a new high-end portable studio camera aimed at live broadcast. With its larger 6K sensor, EF lens mount, remote controllable ND filter, and a myriad of other connectivity features, it’s versatile enough for almost any production.

The Studio Camera 6K Pro retails for $2,495 MSRP while the 4K Pro G2 is priced at $1,865 MSRP.

ATEM Microphone Converter

The ATEM Microphone Converter provides four additional XLR inputs for your switcher via MADI. It has all the features you’d expect from a broadcast analogue to digital converter, including video monitoring via HDMI.

This means it gives you a scrolling waveform feed of your four channels as they are converted to digital, which is incredibly useful for quickly picking up any peaks or irregularities before adding the channels to your broadcast or stream.
