A whole bunch of unreleased synths and drum machines were briefly visible on Behringer’s website. Were the Behringer leaks an accident or part of a strategy?
Behringer Leaks: New Synths and Drum Machines
For the past few weeks, Behringer has been in the process of redoing its website. And it looks like something didn’t go entirely according to plan: For a brief period of time, several synths and drum machines that have yet to be announced were visible on the manufacturer’s site. The Behringer leaks have since been removed, but some users were quick enough to capture screenshots.
Among others, the VCX 3 was briefly visible. Behringer’s clone of the EMS VCS 3 has been in the works for several years now, and there were even rumours that Behringer might have abandoned the project. The fact that it briefly showed up on the website could be an indication that the VCX 3 is, in fact, alive and well – we certainly hope so! In other news, the EMS-inspired AKS Mini also seems to be making progress.
Moreover, Behringer appears to be working on several new drum machines, including a sampling drum machine inspired by the legendary E-mu SP-1200. After the LM Drum and BMX, this would make a lot of sense. There was no picture yet, but the SP-1200 will apparently offer 12 and 24-bit sampling and analog filters.
In addition, the Behringer leaks include a new sampling drum machine named RD-765. We don’t know what this is yet, but there are rumours that it might be some sort of mash-up of the TR-707, -626, and -505. And the KORG Mini-Pops 7 clone Behringer hinted at a couple of years ago seems to be nearing completion, as well!
The new website also includes a placeholder for what must be the most eagerly awaited of all Behringer synths: the VS-80. The fact that it’s among the Behringer leaks is a glimpse of hope that the CS-80 clone is finally almost ready. The same goes for the 1601 Sequencer, which the manufacturer first talked about in 2021.
Behringer Leaks: New MIDI Controllers and Keyboards
But that’s not all. Behringer’s website also briefly showed several new controllers and MIDI sequencers, including the long-awaited BCR32. The successor to the mighty BCR2000 has been on many fans’ wishlists since 2021 – now it could be coming soon. Behringer also seems to be working on an APC40-style grid controller named AQ64.
It also looks like the SWING might be getting a successor named JAM, which will also be available with built-in sounds (JAM PLAY). The Behringer Polykeys PK61 is a 61-key MIDI keyboard controller with polyphonic aftertouch, while the QT32 seems to be going head-to-head with AKAI’s successful MPK Mini.
We don’t know if the Behringer leaks were an accident or part of an unconventional strategy to bring some products back into the spotlight. If anything, the leaks seem to prove that the manufacturer is making progress on a couple of synths that many users have been waiting for for years.

How could a reanimated corpse be alive and well? Behringer is the Pet Sematary of synth builders. Everything they unleash is a fatally-flawed abomination.

That being said, although i understand your sentiment, I have to say the few bits and bops I have from Behringer has been holding up surprisingly well actually. Bought a Deepmind 6 in 2017 which has seen a fair bit of abuse and is still flawless. Same goes for my 101 that i got in 2020. Also have a Neutron which I got in 2020 aswel, and the filter actually did break after 2 years (1 year after warranty finished) but they serviced it for free (in the Netherlands) and it has been going strong since. Im not a fan Behringer in particular, but it survived pretty much all my Arturia gear :'(

Mijn vraag is van waar die excuses altijd ? Zo van ik ben geen fan van Behringer maar ik heb ze toch gekocht alsof het een schande is als mensen van Behringer houden.
Heel bijzonder wat de kudde geest doet en de publieke opinie bepaald over wat en hoe je moet denken.
Nothing to write home about. They could’ve made something unique and exciting… but it’s Behringer… so… Nah!
Name a device like the QT32 Play that’s $129.
