Witch Pig Apocalypsis: What the End of the World Sounds Like
Just in time for Halloween, developer Witch Pig has unleashed Apocalypsis upon the world, ready to turn your signals into a smoldering pile of rubble. A combination of a delay, reverb, envelope-controlled pitch-shifter, and distortion, Apocalypsis is a unique multi-effect that reacts to your input signal before completely annihilating it.

As always, the GUI is perhaps even more unique than the plugin itself, featuring an old TV set with doomsday images flashing before your eyes. Turn the knobs (screws) on the left to adjust the pitch, delay, and feedback for the left and right sides. Then, use the two screws on the right to dial in the desired amount of distortion and overall effect level. Judgment day has arrived!
Apocalypsis is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU formats.
Variety of Sound FeenstaubHDR: 3-Dimensional Bus Processor
Variety of Sound has released a new plugin in the popular Feenstaub series of bus processors. FeenstaubHDR is about adjusting and balancing your audio in three dimensions: timbre, dynamics, and stereo field. The developer says that it works best on full program stereo material, but can also be used on individual tracks or buses such as vocals or drums.

FeenstaubHDR lets you manage the dynamics of your signal with a blend of Vari-Mu compression, expansion, and saturation, while preserving punch and energy. As it supports mid/side processing, you can also fine-tune the stereo imaging of your track. Moreover, the plugin includes a 2-band dynamic equalizer for timbral refinement.
In case you’ve missed them, here are the other two plugins in the Feenstaub series: FeenstaubTX and FeenstaubTC.
FeenstaubHDR is a VST/VST3 plugin for Windows.
Cillic Audio Metal Box Lite: Vintage Digital Reverb
Cillic Audio Metal Box Lite is the free sibling of the paid Metal Box plugin ($12). Like the full version, it’s based on one of the earliest reverb algorithms first conceived in 1962. If you’re looking for a unique reverb effect with a slightly claustrophobic and compressed feel, look no further.

The free version has fewer controls than the full version, omitting the modulation and damping features. However, it does offer the unique Stability slider that lets you dial in a variable error in the algorithm that began as a glitch in the code, resulting in glassy, ringing feedback.
Metal Box Lite is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU formats.
