The fact that they are on their fourth run of such a physically huge and bogglingly premium synthesizer is quite remarkable. It was originally launched at 2019’s Synthfest and Analogue Solutions founder Tom Carpenter said back then that they’d “sold way more than I expected”. They continue to find homes for these massive machines that cost £25,000 ex VAT.

They’ve been so successful that Analogue Solutions are working on some upgrade options to fill in the blank panels.

The synthesizer itself consists of 12 wide-frequency analogue VCOs and 8 analogue filters based on Oberheim and Moog designs. It has Sample & Hold, Random generators, Noise generators, Ring Modulators, Slew Limiters and 4 envelopes. It has a pair of spring reverbs, a mixer with VU meters and an integrated oscilloscope. It has a digital control system that features a touch keyboard, sequencers, joysticks and clock manipulation. And a pair of CV/Audio Pin Matrix panels for routing and modulation. It has an unashamedly Synthi 100 vibe but borrows or clones no circuits from EMS – it’s all pulled from Analogue Solutions many years of making synthesizers.

A list of synthesizer specs doesn’t really paint the full picture of this immense machine. You have to see it being carried upstairs.
