Ampeg’s new Rocket Bass Series is a selection of combo style amps, available in a range of speaker configurations and wattages. The series has amps for players of all levels, from beginners all the way through to seasons pros.
Ampeg Rocket Bass Series
The new Rocket Bass Series from Ampeg starts with the 30-watt RB-108 and goes up to the top of the range 500-watt RB-210 model.
“Simply put, we wanted to design the ultimate bass combos, sacrificing nothing in terms of tone or aesthetics. Most important, Rocket Bass is designed for the practical player that doesn’t want to give up stage-ready looks, roadworthy construction, and killer tone just because they prefer the practicality of a combo amp.”
– Dino Monoxelos, Ampeg Brand Marketing Manager.
You have five models in total, including the RB-108, RB-110, RB-112, RB-115 and RB-210. The combos offer features such as a 3-band EQ, Ampeg’s signature Ultra Hi/Ultra Lo switches (RB-112 and up), and the company’s new Super Grit Technology overdrive circuit. All combos come with auxiliary inputs and headphone outputs, while models above the RB-1o8 also have XLR line outputs. Each model’s name gives you the speaker layout, for e.g. the R-108 has a single 8″ speaker, whereas RB-210 is two 10″ speakers, etc.
Having a decent bass rig is always important, and the Ampeg brand name has become synonymous with bass amps. So this new range could be perfect for players looking to get some of that “Ampeg-tone”, but in a compact combo format.
