These new Plini and Per Nilsson signature models from Strandberg offer players some exceptional builds, with high quality components and the company’s unique guitar design. Both these headless ergonomic guitars should be able to offer players an experience second to none.

Strandberg Boden Plini Edition Neck-Thru

The new Strandberg Boden Plini Edition Neck-Thru model just looks amazing, the neck design and overall construction of this guitar just oozes modern style. It follows on from Plini’s previous bolt-on model and takes it in another direction construction-wise. The five-ply carbon-fibre reinforced roasted maple neck extends into the body for an unparalleled playing experience. I like the ebony fretboard with its subtle Plini Moon inlay at the 12th fret, as it looks quite understated and really suits the overall aesthetic of this guitar.

Standberg’s necks are unlike any other guitar I have played. A good friend of mine plays Strandberg pretty much exclusively and has always commented on how he never gets any issues with hands cramping or aching after playing during long rehearsals and gigs.

Chambered

It has a chambered swamp ash body with a solid maple top and an Australian Blackwood veneer, which suits the stripped-back modern look of this guitar. You have a pair of the new Michael Frank designed Strandberg Plini Edition humbuckers wired via a three-way selector switch and a master volume control. The Strandberg EGS Series 5 tremolo system is a proven piece of hardware and should work like a dream. I also quite like the black anodised hardware choice for both colours available, which includes Natural and Trans Brown finishes.

Strandberg Singularity True Temperament

Next up is the new Strandberg Singularity True Temperament, the latest signature model for Per Nilsson. Now, the clue is in the name, and yes, this guitar is true temperament, which means you get all that extra special fretwork. At first glance, true temperament frets can make your eyes go funny. But if you want near perfect intonation across the fretboard, all that extra fret work pays off.

The roasted maple neck comes with an Indian rosewood fretboard and a Per Nilsson-modified EndurNeck profile on both models. The body is crafted using American basswood, and you get some very tasty looking aircraft-grade aluminium hardware and a Strandberg EGS Series 5 fixed bridge.

Strandberg Singularity True Temperament Blue Blast

Red Blast 7-string or Blue Blast 8-string

There are two models available: the Red Blast 7-string or Blue Blast 8-string. As these models are quite specialist, and because all that extra fretwork is very tricky to do, they will be released in very small batches for a limited time only. The multi-scale necks are measured at 26.25″ to 25.5″ for the 7-string and 28″ to 26.5″ for the 8-string model.

Both models come loaded with a set of Lundgren Modern Vintage Neck and Bridge humbuckers, plus a Lundgren single-coil in the middle. These are then wired via a five-way pickup selector switch with a master volume and master tone control. So you should have plenty of great tones available on both models with this setup.
