Flux:: plugs on Waves SoundGrid – Stepping into the future of digital audio
With all the modern technology we have available today such as zero latency audio over ethernet, scalable DSP solutions and cross-platform integration, it’s amazing how limited we still are. Users still have to consider if system A can talk to system B and therefore where any investment is best spent. Thankfully some synergies are appearing through the “cloud” of聽the modern digital realm. We need news of partnerships like this so we can fully benefit from everything digital audio has to offer.
Flux:: and Waves have announced that 12 of the Flux:: plugins are now fully compatible with the聽Waves SoundGrid platform. This makes Flux:: the first major developer to聽code聽its plugins聽for integration with SoundGrid聽which provides low-latency audio processing.聽SoundGrid is designed聽to expand DSP processing power available for plugins聽by unitising聽dedicated DSP hardware servers and interfaces for studio facilities, live sound, broadcast and post-production.

Like many, I love the Flux:: plugins and the good news is anyone with existing licenses, (perpetual and subscription) for these Flux:: products now include the Waves SoundGrid versions at no additional cost.聽Until 6th聽March 2016, Flux:: are offering an introductory promotion with 50% off all formats, including the new SoundGrid versions.
Alliances between manufacturers in pro audio are so important for the future of our industry. We’ve been through the era of building bigger, better and faster systems, but聽now it’s time we make the most聽of them. In my opinion, if Waves continue to develop their hardware integration and form strong connections with other highly respected manufacturers, they could lead the next age of digital audio. Although you’re perhaps not looking to buy a SoundGrid system today, this is very interesting information to base tomorrow’s purchasing decisions on.
