Native Instruments Maschine+: Deal of the Week
If you’ve been following the news lately, it would seem that rumors of the death of Native Instruments’ Maschine were completely unfounded. The company just announced Maschine 3.7 as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations, with new sequencing tools now part of the fun. And support for Maschine+ is reportedly coming soon. This all means that if you’ve been holding off on getting a Maschine+ out of concern that NI was putting it out to pasture, you can probably rest easy.
And would you look at this? Thomann is running a deal now on Maschine+. The standalone sampling groovebox is currently available for the nice price, one that is significantly lower than when it first dropped in 2020. And in case you need a refresher, Maschine+ lets you compose within the Maschine workflow entirely without a computer. It has 16 RGB pads and it’ll even run NI plugin instruments and effects. Ableton Move: $229 Off
I feel like the Ableton Move doesn’t get talked about nearly enough. It’s a firm favorite of our editor Marcus Schmal, and makes a great companion to those deep into the Live ecosystem (or those wanting to head into that funky wilderness).
Sort of a hardware version of Live, Move doubles as a self-contained and portable groovebox as well as a controller. It provides 32 pads with polyphonic aftertouch for inputting notes and other functions, with four tracks for sequencing the instruments Drift, Wavetable, Drum Sampler and Melodic Sampler, plus effects as well. It comes packed with 1500 sounds and presets, all running on a quad-core ARM Cortex-A72 at 1.5GHz with 2GB of RAM and a built-in 64GB SD card. Being portable, it also offers a speaker, a lithium battery with four hours of play time and a built-in audio interface.
