Created in collaboration with composer Steffen Krebber, Unfiltered Audio Sinusoidal Run Rhythm generates groove patterns from any sound.

SRRhythm expands on Dr Steffen Krebber’s approach to rhythmic theory using a basic mathematical process. By creating microtemporal grids, SRRhythm turns sounds into distinctive rhythmic patterns, ideal for electronic music production, sound design, and motion picture score.

In its simplest form, Krebber’s process is designed to alter the amplitude of the incoming signal, but the SRRhythm plugin allows patterns to be mapped to additional parameters, including binaural offset, panning, and filter cutoff modulation. Naturally, these controls can be used in combination or individually to create anything from an aggressive tremolo effect to a modulated evolving pattern.

More Information

To ensure the chaos you create is organized, SRRhythm synchronizes across the multiple plugin instances in your DAW project. This creates a link between the various parameters to ensure rhythmic effects created have consistency, which is essential when dealing with micro timing. This also allows you to create a complex system with SRRhythm acting on multiple instruments at once, while letting you automate and make adjustments to follow the structure of your composition.

Within the SRRhythm ecosystem, you can use the pattern, global controls, and components called partials as a modulation pattern to control the LP/HP/BP filters, which can create rhythmically interesting results, especially on single melodic instruments. Meanwhile, you can also process a channel group bus or your whole mix by introducing binaural amplitude and panning to accentuate different sections in your song.

Also included with SRRhythm is a MIDI version of the plugin that allows real-time triggering and control via MIDI note input, CC, and parameters such as pitch/pressure. The MIDI version can also be used to control other plugins like the Battalion drum synth, for example, to quickly generate multiple patterns. The developer also states that the pattern system will be improved, so look out for future updates.
