CRQL ANINA: Free Spectral Shaper and Resonance Suppressor
ANINA, the latest brainchild of developer Ewan Bristow, gives popular plugins like Soothe 2 and Trackspacer a run for their money – for free! With up to 1024 bands of compression, this spectral processor is a seriously powerful tool for taming harsh resonances, isolating frequencies, creating space in your mix for other elements, and even creative sound design.
ANINA packs a lot of features in a clear, easy-to-use GUI. You can choose from several block sizes (or numbers of bands), and adjust the Amount, Attack, and Decay, while keeping an eye on the spectrum analyzer. There’s also a built-in tilt EQ for the compression signal for quick and easy sound shaping. You can further shape the filter spectrum using a pair of filters and a gate. ANINA even has a Freeze button that allows you to freeze the compression spectrum to hear exactly what’s going on.
But that’s not all. ANINA also includes a sidechain input, so it can respond to other signals to carve out space in your mix. And the Delta button lets you listen to the portion of the signal that’s being removed, which also happens to be a great creative sound design tool.
A seriously impressive free plugin, ANINA is a must-have if I’ve ever seen one!

Variety of Sound epicVerb mkII: Free Algorithmic Reverb
An update from Variety of Sound is always fantastic news! epicVerb mkII is a powerful algorithmic reverb plugin for Windows that delivers anything from small rooms to vast acoustic spaces with natural depth and precise stereo imaging.
The latest version features improved reverb algorithms for even better clarity and depth. The early reflections have also been refined to enhance spatial definition. In addition, the filter section got an update with enhanced tonal control and new shelving filter options.
Moreover, epicVerb mkII features a new preset browser for quicker navigation, a whole new set of factory presets, and a resizable user interface.
epicVerb mkII is available as a VST/VST3 plugin for Windows.
Analog Obsession RazorClip: Free Analog-Style Clipper with 5 Modes
Analog Obsession is back with RazorClip, a free clipper plugin inspired by analog circuits. While it isn’t modeled after any specific hardware, it offers a choice of five clipping modes: Diode, Tube, BJT, XFMR, and Tape.
The Gain knob delivers up to 24 dB of amplification with gain compensation to keep your levels in check while driving the signal into clipping. In addition, RazorClip offers an Output control (±24 dB) and a Blend knob for mixing the processed and unprocessed signals.
RazorClip is available for macOS and Windows in VST3, AU, and AAX formats.
