According to Fender, sales figures for last year’s Hello Kitty release exceeded all expectations – by a long shot. With the pink Strat, pink fuzz, and loads of pink accessories, the release struck a chord with the zeitgeist! Today, they’re back in new colors. The Hello Kitty Fuzz black is here, alongside a white Squier Strat. This time, there is merch, too!
Fender Hello Kitty Fuzz Black: Back in Black
Bad news for those of us who just can’t live without pink gear. This renewed Hello Kitty Collection comes in a range of new colors, but unfortunately, pink is not one of them. For instance, as the name suggests, the Hello Kitty Fuzz Black comes in traditional black. But like its predecessor, the fuzz also features the unmistakable Hello Kitty artwork.
As for the controls on the pedal, the Hello Kitty Fuzz Black comes with volume, tone, and fuzz. Output volume, high- or low-pass filter, and fuzz intensity allow you to dial in everything from slightly fuzzed-out sounds to complete sonic destruction. Squier Hello Kitty Strat White: Just as beautiful as the pink Strat
The latest Hello Kitty Collection also includes a new edition of the Squier Stratocaster. This model comes in white and again features an Okoume body, a maple neck with a C-profile and a maple fretboard with 21 narrow-tall frets. The Hello Kitty emblem has once again been placed prominently on the single-ply pickguard, so Hello Kitty fans can recognize each other easily.
Fender has also opted for tried-and-tested components for the pickup, installing a Fender-designed Alnico humbucker and a volume control. In terms of hardware, the Squier Strat features a 6-saddle strings-through-body hardtail bridge and vintage-style tuners. At Thomann*, the model costs $457.00 / £414.00 / €469.00 and comes with a deluxe Hello Kitty gig bag.
A cable, a strap, and merchandise!
In addition to the Hello Kitty Fuzz Black and the white Strat, the new Hello Kitty Collection includes a guitar strap and a cable again. The strap is available in white from Thomann* for $28.00 / £24.90 / €29.00, and the three-meter cable also costs the same price*
For die-hard Hello Kitty fans, that’s not all! There’s merchandise, too! Two different T-shirt designs and a sweatshirt are available. The T-shirt comes in two versions, one with the Hello Kitty logo in four sizes*, each priced at $24.50 / £21.90 / €25.00.
