Blue, Blue, Electric Blue… – Sounds and Presets
Electric Blue is the stunning new guitar sample library from Indiginus and sets new standards in scripted guitar sample libraries.
Guitar sample libraries have come a long way, and whilst blow-hard guitar snobs will bore you to death with claims of inaccuracies and a lack of authenticity, the rest of us will be making music with these incredibly clever tools, such as Electric Blue!
Sounds and Presets
Electric Blue for Kontakt by Indiginus
Indiginus has, for a good many years, flown under many people’s radars when it comes to sample libraries. I’ve known them for many, many years, from way back when I first discovered their epic Solid State Symphony library for the king of hardware samplers, the Akai S5/6000.
Adapting swiftly to the changing face of sampling in the early 2000’s, Tracy Collins has built a strong reputation for beautifully crafted and exquisitely scripted libraries for Kontakt that deliver incredible value for money and undeniable usability.
Electric Blue is their latest offering, featuring a deeply multi-sampled Gibson Les Paul that offers so much detail and flexibility, you could get lost for days just noodling around with it! Tracy pays an inordinate amount of time sampling countless articulations, pick up positions and playing styles so that you can get as much out of it as a real guitarist would.
There are complex chord and strumming engines in Electric Blue, which allow for customisation when it comes to chord fingering and strum patterns. You’ve got slides, bends, hammer-ons, pull-offs, harmonics, mutes, timed grace notes and more, including an auto harmony option.

And if that wasn’t enough, there’s a selection of effects that includes custom amp and speaker impulse responses to really get the sound that you want. If you’re after top-quality guitars on your track but don’t have access to a guitarist, Electric Blue will satisfy many of your needs.
Electric Blue works in the full version of Kontakt only, version 5 and upwards. This will NOT work in the free Kontakt Player. You can buy Electric Blue direct from Indiginus for just $59 USD.

MC-101/707 Sound pack by DF Audio
This next pack is a real treat from Dud Faz of DF Audio. Dud typically makes patch bays and other tools for the likes of you EMOMers out there, who are looking for small, compact routing tools for their live modular rigs.

But this little gem of a sound library is for both Roland MC-101 and MC-707 users and delivers a solid collection of really usable patches, derived from analog synthesizer sources. In exchange for your email address, for which you will be subscribed to his mailing list, you can get these 48 patches free of charge.
Dud used Zenology Pro to craft these patches before putting them into the MC-101/707 format but they will also work in other Roland ZenCore synths. The pack contains some really beautiful patches that cover all the usual types.
So if you fancy some brilliant and free sounds to play with, head on over to the DF Audio page and grab ’em while they’re hot!

Pulse Noir for AAS Chromaphone 3 by Adam Pietruszko
I’m a sucker for physically modelled sounds and the synths that make them. I can’t quite put my finger on exactly why, but these sounds are always really interesting to me. Ever since I got my KORG Prophecy, I’ve just loved these sounds.

AAS’s Chromaphone 3 is an excellent software synth that makes acoustic, physical modelling fun, as well as allowing for some deep programming and messing around with the technology. I particularly like the visual nature of the interface that shows you how the sound is being made.
Now we have a new sound bank for the synth in the form of Pulse Noir, put together by Adam Pietruszko and compatible with both Chromaphone 3 and AAS’s Player instrument. The former lets you play the pack right out of the box, whilst the latter affords you the ability to dig in and mess around.
There are 101 presets in the pack that pitches itself at soundtrack and cinematic applications, but could easily be used beyond those areas and styles. As you will hear in the demo, this pack contains some deeply moody and expressive sounds.
Pulse Noir is currently on offer for just $19 USD, down from $39. Grab it from the AAS website now!

Imaginarium for Waldorf Iridium by Lfo.store
Waldorf recently dropped a superb new update for their Quantum and Iridium synths that brought MIDI 2.0 into play, making it the first hardware synth to adopt the new standard. Now we have a new sound bank for the Iridium from Lfo.store.

Imaginarium contains 40 presets and sequences covering leads, arps, plucks, pads and bass sounds that really show off the Iridium’s capabilities. These sounds will also work on the Iridium Core, so this pack has broad appeal.
Lfo.store say this bank is suited for anyone making modern genres of music including retrowave, ambient, trance, house and more, so if the demo floats your boat, why not grab this pack for just €15 from the Lfo.store!
