These new PRS Chleo Herman Li Signature models are limited edition runs of the DragonForce guitarists’ favourite guitar and are available in two different finishes.
PRS Chleo Herman Li Signature
The PRS Chleo Herman Li signature is based on the guitar he has been playing for the last few years. It is available either in Charcoal Purple Burst or Orchid Dusk finishes. Both models come with gold hardware throughout, so you’ll need to be a fan of the bling!
Super Slim
Previously, Li was an Ibanez artist and had signature models with them based on their ultra-thin bodied Sabre models.
The PRS model uses a mahogany back and a flamed maple top, which makes the two finishes pop nicely.
Dragon Inlays
As Li plays in DragonForce, he has to have Eclipse Dragon inlays on his signature guitar, and they similarly decorate the fretboard to the standard PRS Birds. The maple neck has an ebony fretboard, so these dragons fly nicely on that dark background.
Deep Cuts
This PRS model is also very thin and has an extended cutaway with deep cuts, so that Herman can shred up on those upper frets with no issues for access. His model has 24 frets, and he wants to use all of them unhindered.
The extended horns of this guitar accentuate those deep cuts, and the rear neck joint is super smooth, sculpted, and will also help with that upper access.
Gotoh GE1996T
It comes outfitted with a Gotoh GE1996T Floyd Rose-style locking trem system with a PRS stabilizer and a set of PRS Phase III locking tuners.
A set of Li’s signature Fishman pickups. With a single Fishman Fluence Signature Series Omniforce Herman Li single coil, a pair of Fishman Fluence Signature Series Omniforce Herman Li humbuckers in an HSH configuration.
The signature pickups are controlled using a single push/pull volume, a push/pull tone, and a 5-way blade switch. The two push/pull controls access the three distinct voices, and the guitar offers up to 13 tone combinations.
Built for Battle?
This guitar is built to take on fantasy monsters and play fast licks. Herman famously actually managed to break a PRS model live on stage by accident. Hopefully, this won’t be an issue for these guitars as they are quite expensive.
Price & Availability
These limited edition guitars are not exactly cheap, and you’ll probably need to be either a DragonForce fan with deep pockets or just really love their look. They are limited to 200 pieces with 100 of each colour available worldwide.
