Five new PRS S2 and SE models each with three pickups
PRS has announced the highly anticipated launch of five new 22-fret models, each featuring a distinctive three-pickup configuration. This significant release spans the USA-made S2 Series and the Indonesian-made SE Series, offering guitarists great tones and exceptional value.
PRS Three Pickup S2 and SE
The new S2 Series additions include the S2 Special Semi-Hollow and S2 Studio, while the popular SE Series welcomes the SE Special Semi-Hollow, SE Studio, and SE Studio Standard. This huge release provides guitars for musicians across all levels and price points.
S2 Special Semi-Hollow
The PRS S2 Special Semi-Hollow combines a pair of 58/15 LT humbuckers in the bass and treble positions with a PRS Narrowfield in the middle. This unique arrangement, coupled with a 5-way blade switch and two mini-toggles, provides an astonishing twelve distinct pickup combinations.
The carved maple top and mahogany back, alongside its semi-hollow body construction, contribute to a naturally airy and deep tone with enhanced sustain.
Available in Black Amber, Dark Cherry Sunburst, Faded Gray Black Blue Burst, Faded Gray Black Purple Burst, Fire Red Burst, and Lake Blue.

S2 Studio
The PRS S2 Studio redefines versatility with its single, single, humbucker configuration. Featuring two PRS Narrowfield pickups in the bass and middle positions and a 58/15 LT humbucker in the treble, this model offers everything from crisp single-coil clarity to rich, vocal humbucker tones. A 5-way blade switch and push/pull tone control offer lots of great tones.

SE Special Semi-Hollow
The PRS SE Special Semi-Hollow introduces the Narrowfield DD pickup design to the SE Series within a classic maple-top guitar. Its semi-hollow construction enhances sustain and resonance, while the elegant f-hole adds a classic look.
With a hum, single, humbucker setup featuring 58/15 LT “S” pickups and a PRS Narrowfield DD “S” in the middle, the coil-tap switching system delivers an impressive range of tones.

SE Studio

Unique in this release with its bolt-on neck, the PRS SE Studio Standard brings the exceptional tone, playability, and versatility of the Studio model to the SE Series, presented in an all-mahogany design with a vintage-style pickguard.

Verdict
This is a huge release, and the five new models cover. a lot of ground, which gives us guitar players a lot of options to consider. The Narrowfield pickups are a huge part of this release and could be perfect for many jobs with all those tones for each of the S2 and the SE models.
PRS is celebrating its 40th anniversary, and there is a release planned for every month this year. With this huge drop of five new models, each with three pickups, May has been a pretty great month for PRS guitar fans.
