Fender Brad Paisley 1967 Lost Paisley Tele: Limited Run
With a Blue Paisley Relic finish
This Fender Brad Paisley 1967 Lost Paisley Tele is a limited run Custom Shop model with a Blue Paisley Relic finish.
Brad Paisley 1967 Lost Paisley Tele
The Brad Paisley 1967 “Lost Paisley” Telecaster boasts a lightweight and resonant body, thanks to its alder, paulownia, and spruce construction, ensuring exceptional comfort.
Beyond its eye-catching Blue Paisley Relic finish, it features a comfortable ’60s Oval “C” maple neck with a round-laminated maple fretboard fitted with 21 narrow tall (6105) frets.
Glaser “G” Bender
This model is powered by a set of Seymour Duncan Custom Shop Hand-Wound Lost Paisley pickups and a Glaser “G” Bender for smooth, pedal-steel-esque bends.
Blue Paisley Relic
Born from the late ’60s Summer of Love counterculture, Fender’s short-lived Paisley Red and Blue Flower finishes offered a psychedelic flair. These eye-catching designs featured vibrant colours on decorative Cling-Foil paper and a matching metallic burst.
Brad Paisley is a huge fan of these models and shares a surname with the finish. The original ‘late 60s models were prone to chipping, so Fender eventually discontinued the finish option after a few years, thus making them hard to find and collectible.
Moving to the present, a lucky discovery occurred while Brad was studying guitar building: seemingly unused sheets of ’60s Blue Paisley Cling-Foil.
This find led Brad to work with friends Zac Childs and Joe Glaser. Their project involved refinishing Brad’s 1967 Telecaster and carefully recreating vintage-accurate Paisley Cling-Foil paper.
Limited Run
Now, the Fender Custom Shop is recreating this guitar as a limited run, and they are available in two versions. Paisley will build a highly limited edition of 19 guitars, available solely through his channels, while the Fender Custom Shop in Corona, California, will craft 67 guitars for sale through Fender’s dealer network.
The standard version comes at around $7000 each and includes a certificate of authenticity. I would guess these will all sell out quickly to collectors.
If you cannot stump up that, then look out for his previous Mexican-made Fender Brad Paisley Road Worn Telecaster or the Fender Brad Paisley Esquire in black.
He also has a new Fender Brad Paisley Road Worn Tele model out in black this month as well available to order at Thomann.
