The new NUX Mighty Plug Pro adds even more useful features to the previous Mighty Plug headphone from 2020. Now you have more of all the things that make these headphone amps a must-have for your gigbag and your practice routine.
NUX Mighty Plug Pro
Headphone amps are a great tool for guitarists and the new NUX Mighty Plug Pro is the latest offering from this Chinese brand. Offering amp modelling, IRs and effects to help you create a decent sound to practise with whilst using your headphones. There are also several Acoustic IRs for electric guitar with magnetic pickups to use their Acoustic Guitar Simulation.
This headphone amp now contains the following 21 digital guitar amp simulations plus a selection of impulse responses-based speaker cabinet models which include 24 guitar cabs, 7 bass cabs, 3 acoustic guitar sounds and 2 custom impulse responses. These latter two Bogna-T75 and BritJH-G IRs were created by digital amp specialist ChopTones and so you should have a good selection of useable IRs including these two.
Finally, you have 18 empty slots for any third-party IRs and 7 programmable preset slots, which means you can customise patches to your specific tastes.
The MightyAmp app allows for easy editing
Effects
We all love effects and so NUX has included a decent amount for us to use. These include a gate, three compressors, two EQs, five delays, and six reverbs. Plus a good selection of modulations and overdrive, distortion and fuzz pedals.
USB C Audio Interface for your DAW
Audio Interface
It is a pretty versatile unit and includes some useful editing/extras. You have access to both the MightyAmp app or Mighty Editor computer software. These allow you to edit sounds and store your own tweaked favourites. Plus, you can also use the Mighty Plug Pro as a USB-C audio interface and use it to record into your DAW of choice. This also allows you to use the Normal, Dry Out, Re-amp and Loopback routing when recording.
Practice Tool
Benefits
It offers a lot of benefits for musicians and it all makes this small unit super versatile. Plus, it is compact and therefore perfect to keep either in your gig bag or on your desk. Ready for when you need to practice your favourite guitar parts. Speaking of practice, there is also an onboard drum machine that includes various drum patterns in styles ranging from rock, country, blues and metal.
